Common Questions

Everything You Need
to Know About This Mattress

From spring systems and sizes to delivery timelines and warranty terms — answered clearly so you can buy with confidence.

All The Mattress Sizes & Fit Health & Sleep Delivery Warranty & Returns
01 What type of spring system does this mattress use?

The Luxury Orthopedic Mattress uses a Bonnel Spring System — an interconnected coil network where all springs work together as a unit. This distributes your body weight evenly across the entire sleep surface, providing firm and consistent support. Unlike foam-only alternatives, the Bonnel system also promotes airflow, keeping the mattress cooler through the night.

02 How thick is the mattress and what does "plush-firm" mean?

The mattress is 12 inches (30 cm) thick. Plush-firm means it has a firm spring core for orthopaedic support, with a cushioned top comfort layer so it does not feel hard or rigid. Think of it as therapeutically supportive where it counts, with gentle surface softness for comfort — the sweet spot for most adults who need back support without sacrificing comfort.

03 What is the difference between a Bonnel spring and a pocket spring mattress?

Bonnel springs are interconnected — all coils move together for even, firm full-surface support. Ideal for back pain, adults 40+, and consistent orthopaedic needs. More durable and cost-effective long-term.

Pocket springs are individually wrapped so each coil responds independently. Better for motion isolation (light sleepers, couples with different body weights). More premium price point.

For firm spinal support and back pain relief, the Bonnel system in this mattress is the recommended choice.

04 Is this mattress good for back pain?

Yes. The 12-inch Bonnel Spring construction promotes healthy spinal alignment by keeping the spine in a neutral position overnight. The firm coil base prevents the lower back from sinking — a leading cause of morning stiffness and chronic lumbar pain. It is especially recommended for adults over 40 and those advised by physiotherapists to sleep on a firm orthopedic surface. Many customers report a noticeable improvement within the first week.

05 Is a firm or soft mattress better for back pain?

For most adults with lower back pain, physiotherapists and orthopaedic specialists recommend a firm to medium-firm mattress. A firm surface keeps the hips from sinking below the shoulders, preserving the spine's natural S-curve. A soft mattress allows the heavier midsection to sag, which compresses lumbar discs overnight.

This mattress offers the ideal balance — firm at the core, cushioned at the surface — providing therapeutic support without the discomfort of a hard surface.

06 What sizes are available?

Three standard sizes, all at 12-inch thickness:

SizeFeetCentimetres
Double4'0" × 6'2"122 × 188 cm
Queen5'0" × 6'2"152 × 188 cm
King6'0" × 6'2"182 × 190 cm

Custom sizes available on order — call 0722 516 017.

07 What mattress size fits a standard 5×6 bed frame in Kenya?

A Queen size mattress (5ft / 152×188cm) fits the standard Kenyan 5×6 bed frame exactly. If your frame has non-standard interior dimensions, we can cut a custom size — contact us on 0722 516 017 with your exact measurements.

08 How long does an orthopedic mattress last?

A quality Bonnel spring orthopedic mattress typically lasts 8–12 years. The interconnected coil structure resists sagging better than foam-only alternatives. This mattress includes a 5-year manufacturer's warranty.

To maximise lifespan: rotate 180° every 3 months, use a mattress protector, and ensure your bed base has even slat support.

11 What does the 5-year warranty cover?

It does not cover: normal wear and tear, damage from inadequate bed base support, stains, or misuse. Contact 0722 516 017 with proof of purchase to make a claim.

12 Can I return the mattress if I am not satisfied?
